TEMPLE & FAMILY HISTORY PLAN
Vision: We invite into our lives the “power of godliness” by worthily receiving priesthood ordinances and by making, keeping, and continually remembering sacred covenants. Through covenants and ordinances, our hearts can be changed, we will be blessed with peace in times of turmoil, increased personal revelation and spiritual sensitivity to Hear Him will be received, and we will be fortified in our commitment to stay on the covenant path. It is our fundamental obligation to offer temple blessings to the entire human family on both sides of the veil.
-
Every member to pray daily with a commitment to act upon the inspiration received to know what the Lord would have us do to increase the blessings of the temple and family history work in our lives.
-
Increase personal and family history efforts and participation in family history work:
-
Every youth 11 and older to have a Family Search log-in known by parents and to know how to find an ancestor who needs temple ordinances
-
Provide age-specific instruction about personal and family histories and family history work, and encourage the youth share what they know through social media and in their homes
-
Regular involvement of temple and family history consultants in weekday primary and YW/WM activities
-
Contact each home in the ward to encourage a frequent and regular focus on personal and family histories and family history work, and make training available specific to the family’s needs
-
Temple and family history contributions to the weekly email.
-
The vision and plan are communicated and available to every member of the ward.
-
Semi-annual sacrament meeting focused on the principles in the vision.
