Christmas Service Project

Thank you to all who made donations to the BHS Teen Connection Center!  They were so happy to receive our car full of food and gift cards, especially the chocolate milk!  Wendy Harms who works in the Center, had a student ask specifically for chocolate milk but they had run out, so the chocolate milk was going to be a nice surprise to that particular student.  The Teen Center at Bountiful High is actually still under construction, but attached is a picture of the room they are using until construction is complete.  It's a great resource for kids that are finding themselves in a hard situation.  They are always in need of our generosity, keep them in mind all year as you and your family look for ways to give back to our community.  Thanks again!

Relief Society Lessons

Stake leadership is encouraging each ward to enhance their home-centered, church-supported study by preparing for a specific gospel topic rather than an individual General Conference talk for Relief Society and Elder's Quorum lessons.

Prior to each lesson, an email will be sent with the study materials for that week, which may include one or more General Conference talks, gospel topics, and discussion questions. If you are not receiving these emails, please contact Jill Allsop.

Relief Society News

Birthdays, announcements, and event information is sent every month in our Relief Society Newsletter, please contact Jill Allsop if you are not receiving the newsletters via email.

Elders Quorum

“My heart overflows with gratitude for my Heavenly Father. I realize that He has not doomed His children to stumble through mortality without hope for a bright and eternal future. He has provided instructions that reveal the way back to Him. And at the center of it all is His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice for us.

“The Savior’s infinite Atonement completely changes the way we may view our transgressions and imperfections. Instead of dwelling on them and feeling irredeemable or hopeless, we can learn from them and feel hopeful. The cleansing gift of repentance allows us to leave our sins behind and emerge a new creature.

“Because of Jesus Christ, our failures do not have to define us. They can refine us.

“Like a musician rehearsing scales, we can see our missteps, flaws, and sins as opportunities for greater self-awareness, deeper and more honest love for others, and refinement through repentance.” Elder Uchtdorf

“Our living Prophet is doing his part to flood the earth with the Book of Mormon. But he cannot open the floodgates alone. We must follow his lead.” - Elder Ronald A. Rasband

“The knowledge of the truth does not make us better than other people, but it teaches us what we must do to return to God’s presence.” - Elder Denelson Silva

Meet the Missionaries!!

Elder Macfarlane (left) and Elder Eggett (right) are the missionaries serving in the Mueller Park Stake. They also cover the Bountiful Heights Stake. Between the two Stakes, the Elders have over 20 wards in their area! Elder Macfarlane is from Colorado Springs, CO and has been serving for over a year. Elder Eggett is from Boone, IA and has been out for a few months. This is his first area.

The Elders would love to meet with you and your family and friends for dinner, or even just a message. They are able to schedule dinners on weekend afternoons (Saturday or Sunday). You can call, text or email them to arrange that, or you can also call Kevin Moon at 801-520-2984 and he will help schedule meetings with them.

TAnner Crane Mission Update

Time flys! Another great week doing the Lord's work! It's so great to be here and to serve these people everyday.

Everyday has its highs and lows but it keeps getting better and better. Crazy that it is already November. Halloween was sick, it's more or less the same as back home. The members threw a big party at the church, and woah they know how to throw a party. Tons of food, candy, and music. So that was a blast. I will add some photos of the best costumes.

There was a 6.0 earthquake this week which was pretty great. They are pretty common here. Pretty fun/crazy shaking in the apartment. Elder Coro is such a beast and vlogs every time we have earthquakes which is pretty funny. Then he loves showing all the people that we contact in the street.

We had another goated zone conf. It's wild how much I could understand compared to the first time. Papá Johns is a specialty ítem only at conferences. I count my blessings when I get to partake of great food.

Insights: There seem to be more people from outside of Chile than natives. My comp is a CHEF . Follow the spirit in every aspect of your life. Faith is an acción word.

Spiritual thought: Have faith to act. Show your faith to God, trust in Him, and miracles will happen.

Conf talks:

"Christ Is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains" Pres Nelson

"Is There No Balm in Gilead?" By Elder Brent H. Nielson"

"The Laborers in the Vineyard"  By Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

Love,

- Elder T Crane

Aspen Ericson Mission Update

Hermana Aspen Ericson is just reaching her one year mark in the Tucson, Arizona Spanish speaking mission, and she’s only become dehydrated once-so it’s a win! She has been in the same zone nearly the whole time and was recently transferred to South Tucson to serve as a Sister Training Leader. She considers it a great privilege and so rewarding to receive inspiration in her training efforts, on behalf of those missionaries in her stewardship. Her mission is going by too quickly for her liking (but her family is not complaining;)

I have collected several “Aspen-isms” that have impacted me powerfully throughout her mission. I’ll conclude with one of my favorites-just 3 simple words:

“Let people grow”. Hermana Ericson loves those she is serving so dearly, and she’s gifted at seeing the potential in them as they grow in their relationship with Christ. She sends her love to you, her remarkable ward family. You’ve helped her grow in beautiful ways too!
